OCXO

Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators (OCXO), offer higher frequency stability and better frequency phase noise specification than TCXO and other crystal oscillators.

OCXO Variety
OCXO come in all levels of frequency performance and complexity. Low cost OCXO provide better temperature frequency stability than more expensive TCXOs but the power consumption is much higher. At the other end of the spectrum are high-performance OCXO exhibiting superb short-term frequency stability, very low frequency aging rates and high immunity to temperature and other environmental frequency effects.

Symmetricom's OCXO
Symmetricom's latest OCXO is its 9800, ultra-miniature OCXO that provides a high stability RF sine wave frequency output. Symmetricom's use of hybrid circuitry allows for the greatest reduction in size possible without compromising frequency performance or frequency reliability.

The environmentally rugged 9800 OCXO features an SC-cut quartz frequency resonator and sustaining electronics that are controlled at a precise temperature to achieve temperature insensitive frequency performance, excellent frequency phase noise and frequency aging characteristics.

Along with the 9800 OCXO, Symmetricom offers the 9700 OCXO and the 9600 OCXO. All of these OCXOs deliver high-end crystal oscillator frequency precision required for both time and frequency in a wide variety of applications such as:

  • Radio navigation
  • Radar warning receiver
  • Satellite transmission
  • Satellite tracking and guidance
