Symmetricom designed this system for the US Coast Guard to provide timing for the US LORAN-C transmitter stations. This system contains a 2000 series chassis that performs UTC recovery, computes a local time scale from three cesium clocks, and steers the time scale to UTC (USNO). A separate chassis provides the transmitter specific signals needed to operate the station. Two redundant systems are included in the rack with automatic switching in the event of failure. The software permits local operation or remote operation over the Coast Guard’s network, provides status information, and reports all alarms.
